Well before we left Firefighter had to go over to Nutty Neighbor's house and borrow gas money. We were broke from all the previous trips to the labor and delivery unit. When we arrived we didn't bother bringing in the bags. I didn't ask for the room with the water tub. I assumed they would do another test and it wouldn't be amniotic fluid. Firefighter didn't bother taking his coat off. He too was convinced it was nothing.
On the monitors I was having sporadic contractions. Nothing to write home about. They did the test for the amniotic fluid and wouldn't you believe that it actually was?
Firefighter was then sent down to our truck to get our bags. I was 4.5-5cm. So really there wasn't a whole lot of progress from a couple days before.
I wrapped up in my robe and proceeded to pace the halls of the labor & deliver and postpartum floor. Firefighter took a nap. Must have been nice. I had been up since 5:30am the previous day. I was exhausted and laboring. I was slightly bitter.
Around 6am I talked to a nurse about a shot of something to take the edge off so that I could take a nap. She hooked me up to the monitors and put in a Hep-Lock. Within minutes I was feeling a bit loopy and very tired. I was able to squeeze in about an hour nap.
Around 7 my contractions had just about disappeared and my cervix stalled out at 7-8cm. There was great concern in the fact that it was very possible that my amniotic sack had been leaking for well over 24 hours and possibly 48 at this point since the first test could have been wrong on Saturday. My midwife came in and we discussed pitocin. I decided to go with it and have the anesthesiologist on call for an epidural if I didn't feel I could handle the contractions that came with that drip. That was started about 8am. I spent the next hour rocking and moaning and doing what I had to do to deal with the pain.
At 8:50 I was at 9cm or so. Apparently I had a high amniotic leak and they had to break it below too. Almost instantly went to a 10 and was ready to push. At 9 we started. I probably spent a good 3-4 minutes screaming in pain and scaring the other laboring women into an epidural. Firefighter had a front row seat and really enjoyed the experience of seeing labor and delivery like this, both of his older boys were c-section babies. I pushed for 2 minutes and my beautiful Blond Terror was born at 9:06am. His umbilical cord was wrapped 3 times. As soon as she freed him he was making his presence known. He weighed in at 8lb 6oz and was 21in long. He was my 2nd largest(or smallest however you look at it) Prissy Pants was 8lb 4oz and 4 weeks early. Super Hero was 9lb 10oz and 1 day overdue
His hair was astounding. He was born with a head full of white blond hair.

He was my first and only child born through a pain medication free delivery. I was super thankful that I did it that way too. I recovered a lot faster.

yes he was running. He started walking at 7 1/2 months. The kid never wanted to be a baby.
I will update with his 2 year photos tomorrow. I will be taking them at some point during the day.
