So we didn't make it over to the other house last night. Firefighter really just wanted to be home since he'd been working since Wednesday morning. I understand that so we grabbed a bite to eat and then came back home. Today we'll be there after he gets off work again.
I figured I'd show off a little inspiration for the rooms decor.
Our bedroom will be completely bases around these pillow cases that my mom embroidered for me for Christmas.

We're thinking we're going to do blue walls and then the bedding and curtains another color out of them. We haven't gotten that far.

Our living room was pulled together by this one throw pillow that I found. I was at a complete loss on what colors I wanted to do. I knew that I wanted brown in the scheme. When searching the throw pillows at walmart I came across this one and fell in love. I then debated on whether to paint the walls blue or green. I went with the green. We'll accent with the blue and brown. The family room will have these same colors too. Should I decide to eventually paint it we'll be going with the blue instead of the green.

The other rooms I just winged it. I knew in the kitchen I Wanted a funkier vintage look. I happened across the border that I did then into a color of mistinted paint that matched it perfectly. I also have the rail for that kitchen currently in my garage. We were going to use it in this house and never did. I will probably paint the chair rail one of the left over colors from the boys' room. I will pick up new hardware for the cabinets. We're hitting up the Habitat for Humanity store and will hopefully find some for cheap there.
$3 for 3 rolls of border. $1 each off the clearance rack at Lowes.
$8.14 for the mistinted Kilz semi gloss paint off the mistint shelf at Walmart.
and the chair railing was free.
So far the costs have been really low.

The boys room we were going to do in a transportation/cars/planes/whatever moves theme if I could find a cute border. Well upon searching I came across some of the cutest firetruck border on the $1 rack at Lowes. I picked up 2 rolls. The yellow paint for their room is also off the mistint shelf. It just so happened to match. The red I had tinted to match.

The only things so far that I've paid full price for was the throw pillow at walmart, and will pay full price for the rest that I buy as I buy them. The 2 cans of primer, I had one at home that I finishes off first. The green paint for the living room and the red paint for the boys' room. Oh and the textured paint for the hall. I will find something off the mistint shelf for the stairway/hall when it comes time.
