We still don't have our satellite internet. It was originally supposed to be installed last Friday. Then I got an email saying that there was something wrong last Thursday. I call. They haven't shipped out my equipment but apparently whatever was wrong was corrected, or so I was told. They rescheduled it for today. I was told my equipment was to arrive in 3-5 days via UPS. Fast forward to yesterday. I haven't received any equipment. I also received an email about scheduling an installation date. I call to figure out what it going on. Mind you at this point I'm getting really irritated with them. They tell me that there is no record of my phone call even though I called the exact same number. It was rather frustrating. So the problem is that our house is apparently nonexistent. I have had this problem repeatedly here actually. So they triple check the address with me and then ask me if I'm sure this is the correct address. Well yeah I'm living here now and this house has been here for at least 50 years probably closer to 70. It's here and that is the correct address. I'm informed that my equipment will be shipped that day, which it was, and that someone will contact me with installation information. I missed a call from them earlier today by minutes. I called back. The lady I spoke to was really nice. My equipment will arrive tomorrow. UPS wanted to make sure they had the correct address because it's not showing up in their system. It's probably not showing up since they do not deliver mail in this little town. You have to have a po box. That and it hadn't been updated in the 911 system until last Monday. I confirmed yet again that it was the correct address. She then told me that an installer in our area will be contacting me for the installation of my equipment. So hopefully soon. All I can say is that if it gets pushed back again over my address again I'm going to send the equipment back and stick with stupid dial up. That alone speaks volumes about how crappy this has been.
These past few days have been insane. First off I was up at 2:30am on Friday morning. I ran out of packing tape around 6. There isn't a whole lot a girl can do when she runs out of tape and the boxes are completely broken down. I got the kids up and ready for school around 7. Had to haul butt to get them to school and head to ShampooBanana to pick up Firefighter. We had a little bit of time to kill so we walked around Target where I got this super cute sign for above one of the doorways in the Living room. Then over to Circuit City to wander about and see if any of the cameras were within in my small budget since the person I was supposed to buy one from off Craigslist had failed to contact me. I was at the register with a 40d and the guy calls. I politely ask the clerk to return the camera for me. I headed over to campus and picked me up a Canon 30d with a 50mm lens. I got it for cheap. It is pretty much new. He'd only had it a few months and just didn't use it. I'm in love with it and the lens. I have another lens on order right now along with a grip for the camera.
After that we headed home to finish up the packing. Shortly thereafter Pops showed up to help us out. He and Firefighter ran up and got us a very large Budget truck so that the move would be easier. Aunt T showed up next. We got everything packed up and in the truck by 4:30 or so. Headed out to our new house. We dropped off the truck and made plans to meet back up between 10:30 and 11pm to unpack.
Then came Firefighter's new toy. Firefighter, Aunt T, and I all went up north and picked up a pretty and shiny new to us 96 dodge ram long bed with very low miles for being a 13 year old truck. There was an ordeal behind this truck too. We had talked to the seller around 9am and confirmed that we'd meet up around 8:30 in Chi-town. Well we're headed up in that direction around 5:45 or so and Firefighter calls him, thankfully. The seller said oh well I'm getting ready to meet up with another person and sell it. Firefighter is LIVID as am I. We head back to ShampooBanana to get Firefighter's paycheck. We go get something to eat and contact another truck owner about coming to see it that night. We're in the drive through and the guy from the other truck calls. I got really crappy with him over the phone. He apologized profusely agreed to drive closer to us, by 45 minutes, and brought the price down a bit more. We got a stellar deal being that we got it for $1300 less than what the guy was originally asking :). Yup I'm awesome like that.
We got back home and started unpacking the truck. We had to have it turned back in by 9am or be charged for another day. We got done around 1 or 2 am returned the truck. Headed back over to the old house and try filled up the back of the truck with stuff from the garage. Aunt N helped unload the truck and picked up some stuff from the garage too and headed home.
All the while the truck is making a thumping noise in the drivers side front wheel well. We were watching it and being careful. Saturday morning we got back up and headed to P-town to empty out the garage. We made one full trip and on the way back for the 2nd trip I notice that the wheel is getting wobbly. I'm following in the van incase you're wondering how I saw that. We're approaching a bridge in town and the wheel was looking like it was going to pop off at any point. Firefighter pulls over and I look at it. One of the studs for the tire(where the lug nut goes if you don't know what I'm talking about) was broken off. All of the lugnuts were extremely loose. Had he gone much farther the wheel would've fallen off and it would've been ugly. He tightened all of them up and voila it was all better. No more thump. We think that someone didn't tighten it all the way with the work the previous owner put into it.
We then finish up the loading up and head it back over to the new house. We unload it all and head to Shampoo Banana since Firefighter had to work that night on call. We did a little shopping for the new house that night. Like curtains for the living room and a new tv stand. We also got new bowls for the kitchen and new glasses too.
Since then it's been nonstop unpacking and me trying to catch up on sleep since I hardly slept on Saturday night too.

We do have dialup right now and our good internet will be installed on Friday, or so it's supposed to be. Until then the updates with photos may be scarce. I totally plan on hitting up the backyard one nice day soon. Should've yesterday but didn't because I'd been unpacking.

I apparently don't even have the option to add photos right now any ways. That bites. I will have them up on Friday
Well this will be my last post. It was decided earlier that I would go ahead and pack up the computer tonight so that we don't have to bother with it tomorrow.
I will not be posting between now and Monday evening. I don't know if I'll post any photos until we get the satellite internet hooked up. It's already been ordered.

Today I took a bunch of boxes over to the house. I got the kitchen sort of organized. I cannot wait until we raise those darn cabinets. I have counter space but I can't use hardly any of it because they're so low. I have an enormous amount of cabinets. Never in my life have I had this many cabinets to my disposal in my kitchen. They make me so happy. I don't have enough stuff to fill them...yet. In fact I still have the lower shelf in my bottom cabinets empty in almost all of them. I have so much empty space in them its unreal. Especially since all of my cabinets in this house were filled to the brim and I still had too much stuff to fit in them. It's really weird actually. The only downside is that there is only 2 drawers. I am apparently spoiled right now with 7 drawers. I'm going to use the plastic drawers that we used for Blond Terror when he was little to hold all the stuff that I feel needs to be in drawers. Especially since I've already filled the 2 drawers we have and it's not with flatware.
I do have more glasses and plates and such. They're still here getting ready to be packed up. Same with the pots and pans. See that insane amount of cereal? Yeah generally they don't eat cold cereal since it contains HFCS and we try to avoid it. This month I bought a bunch to maybe entice them to get up and get moving before school.

What do you think of that orange color on the wall where my stove will be. It's the paint I wanted to do under the chair rail. I'm still trying to decide if I love it or not. Maybe once the new floor goes in I can make up my mind.

I also hung shelves today. All by myself and they're level. God bless the inventor of the magnetic tip for the drill/screw gun bit and the inventor of the level. Without them I wouldn't have straight shelves. Heck I probably wouldn't have them up yet. Ok I didn't hang the one with the pegs. Firefighter did a few days ago. I did the quilt one and the ones with all my photos. That is not the permanent quilt for that spot either. I just hung it there to see what it would look like with one there. I'm sewing one for in that room. You know in a few months when I've recovered from the speed house preparing/remodeling and moving. Or maybe when my youngest graduates college...
Oh and all of our shelves are made by Twin City Crafters. It happens to be Firefighter's Gpa M. I need to put in my order for a grandfather's clock. I already know what I want. Maybe need to stop by and put a deposit down on it. I also need to order a few more shelves for the kitchen and Prissy Pants' room. That is also where we got the awesome airplane shelf in the boys' room.

I put the clouds on her blue ceiling and a bit on her wall. She and I are going to paint grass and flowers on the blue wall next week. We were going to do the clouds together but we decided that I could go ahead today but hold off on the flowers. I also cut out several butterflies from her border and placed them on the purple wall. Her room is pretty much ready for move in. Hopefully we'll have her new window in on Sunday.

In the boys' room I was able to chalk where I needed to get primed so I could get it painted according to what I want to do since I didn't have enough border and I bought the only 2 rolls on the clearance cart at Lowes. It will eventually be painted a solid white there with black border on top and bottom and dalmation spots all through it. The 2 extra firetrucks I was able to get out of the little bit of remaining border were cut out and hung. This photo only shows the one that I had hung at the time. Yes I got primer on my red paint. I will go over it sometime this weekend. Their room should be totally complete new bunks and all by mid next week.

By the way those photos show the color of the walls probably the most true that I've seen in what I've taken. I'll be honest right now I'm too busy trying to get so much done that I don't feel like color correcting the wall paint colors in the photos. Yes I'm lazy. No I don't care what you think about that ;)
I hope you all have happy weekends! We'll be moving all weekend then working on the house when we're done. Also picking up Firefighter's new to us truck. Say a prayer/keep us in your thoughts/naked moon dance that the wind isn't too bad tomorrow and the rain holds out on Saturday.
We haven't been to the house in two days. We had a hold up. We don't have long enough screws to finish putting up drywall in our future bedroom. The sheet rock/plaster is too thick for normal drywall screws so they won't hit the studs. We'll be working on that this weekend after we get in.
I didn't go over today. I put my butt to work packing. Seriously I hadn't packed anything really. The majority of my house is packed up now. I will finish up the rest tomorrow I believe. I will also spend my morning hauling crap over there. I'm going to fill my van to the brim and haul it over there and try to get some of it organized so I don't have to worry about unpacking so much this weekend.
Firefighter is on call tonight and again tomorrow night so he won't be able to help me at all. Kind of sad that we won't be spending our last night in our first home together and the home we brought our little boy home to with out him. I'm super excited about being able to spend the first night in our new home together though. He has Friday off. So we'll be hardcore moving all day Friday. It's supposed to rain on Saturday. So we really have no choice but to haul booty and get it done.
It's kind of surreal about moving in. I'm super excited though.
The downside to this is that our phone is not being hooked up until Monday between 1pm and 5pm. Since we'll be living out in the boonies our options are dial-up and satellite internet. We're going to get the satellite internet but it will be a couple weeks to a month out. So until then my updates will be scarce. I will probably give one more Friday night and make Firefighter leave the computer for last so I can do that.
I'm going to bed. My packing party with Aunt N and Aunt T wore me out.
I still have one wall to finish up in the boys' room along with painting the bottom trim in their room. Right now it's a juggling game as they put windows in. The last one is the unfinished wall. You can also see the one new window they have in their room. Their other one will be the last one that goes in up there.

Then there is Prissy Pants room. We still have some work in here. The little loft above where her bed will go needs to have the old border pulled down. It also needs painting and the ceiling redone.

The blue slanted wall/ceiling will have clouds painted on it tonight.

This wall will have flowers painted on it in a mini mural design.

And lastly this wall will have random butterflies from the border cut out and put randomly on the wall. I was a real smart one and didn't bother checking where the border should've gone in her bed alcove and it's a bit higher than the border across the room.

She'll get the next new window. It probably won't go in until Friday morning since it's too dark when Firefighter gets home from work to put windows in and he's taken the day off.

Then lastly we've been working on the walls in our future bedroom. The windows have all been replaced in there. All it needs is to be finished up and then trimmed out. Getting the new drywall up in here has become a bit of a priority.

I'll update tonight if my router isn't being stupid and I'm not dog tired when we get home. My goal today was to pack boxes up but being that we're pretty much out of boxes I'm going to get everything ready to pack and laundry and dishes done.
