This past Sunday Carrot Top turned 7. It wasn't in huge fanfare. He said he wanted to wait until it was warmer so we could do something fun. He had cake, family, and presents here. We were a little bummed that it was rainy though.
We first gave him his bag. It contained his new helmet and a wii game. The wii game was a Sonic the Hedgehog game. He asked if he has to wear a helmet while playing the wii. It was such an innocent question yet so stinkin cute.

Then we went out to the garage. That is where he discovered his big birthday gift. A new bike! He had outgrown his other bike and it was in some rough shape. It was time for a new one.

And then we did cake. I searched and searched and could only come up with 3 candles. It was yucky outside and nobody wanted to leave. Firefighter decided that he'd light the 3 twice and 1 for the total of 7.

I know it's been forever since I've updated on the house. Last week we finished our bedroom. Well mostly. We still need to put trim around the windows and put in a bedroom door. I still need to make the curtains and the curtain for the closet doorway. But it's done otherwise.
If you remember it was a mess and not a room in the beginning. Then Firefighter built the one wall before we moved in more or less to keep the kids from falling. Those posts can be found here, here, and here.
We got a new bed. Gma called shortly after we moved in and asked if we wanted her "old" mattress and foundation. It wasn't that old. She said it wasn't supportive enough for her. I said yes. It's free right? It's awesome too. So cushy. We built the frame for it. I like my bed to be a little higher than the standard metal frame.

This is where our once non existent wall was.

Please ignore the mess in the hall and Prissy Pants room. Her new window went in the day we brought our foundation up. There was some drama in that. Like the boxspring was about 3 inches wider than the window was tall. We got it up though. It will not be leaving with us.

This is what I had planned all along for our bed. It actually is supposed to drape a little more than it is in the photo. The photos truly do not do it justice. So if you want to see a great view of it just hollar and come on over :)

My Mamaw gave us the comforter, pillows, and shams. The rods holding my sheer faux headboard were from the old house's living room. The wood from our frame was cedar left over from a work project of Firefighters from over a year ago. I have the fabric that I'm making the curtains with in a box. I originally bought it for something else. The sheer cost me $11 on the clearance rack at Walmart. The paint cost me $17 or so at Menards. The sign on the wall between the windows cost me $13. The total cost to my decorated room was $41.
The comforter is temporary or semi temporary. I am planning on making a quilt to go on our bed, or buy the comforter that I really wanted. Time and money are issues right now so this is what is staying.

I'll update with more stuff later. I have to get photos of them still.
Prissy Pants didn't join us for the egg coloring. She was at my Mom's house. She wanted to go to church on Easter morning. I was cooking Easter dinner so I was unable to attend.

Yes they were wired all day.

Cousin I joined us for the Easter Egg hunt. Aunt N and I hid 6 buckets full of eggs. Every egg had a prize in it too.

Hey ya'll. I'm alive and well. Things are crazy hectic around here.
I killed my upload limit. The husband failed to disable something that I asked him to and he maxed it out in a matter of days. I wasn't happy.
I will hopefully have some photos up next week. This weekend is going to be too crazy to think about uploading right now.
Our transmission died a few weeks ago in our much needed van. That was fixed this past weekend. 3 of the kids and I went to Kentucky to my Mamaw's house. We had a good time.
I started school that week that we were gone. That alone keeps me busy.
It snowed this past Sunday. Yeah in April. How wrong is that? It's supposed to be getting warmer not snowing.
The last thing I can think of is that the Blond Terror had "surgery" this morning. He apparently put a red bead in his left ear a few weeks back. We originally though his ear drum was getting ready to rupture. Upon looking further into it, and a round of drops and oral antibiotics, they noticed it didn't look right. We were refered to the ENT on Monday from our Dr. We went on Tuesday and spent most of the day there. Then this morning they knocked his little booty out and removed the bead. Yes I have it.
Did I mention that Firefighter turned 24 last month?
I will try to update early next week with Easter photos and all that good jazz. Until then....
